Welcome to Wilckens STEAM Academy at Hillcrest! I am honored to be the principal of this innovative school that is working to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, exploration, collaborative learning, creativity, and innovation within our students. This is my 9th year as principal here at STEAM and my 12th year of principalship here in Belton.

STEAM is a caring school that believes in partnerships between staff, parents, students, and the community. We are fortunate to be in such a strong community that truly values education and the success of all students. I truly believe that through the engaging learning experience student have here at STEAM, using Project Based Learning (PBL) and integration throughout the curriculum, students will make a deeper connection to the world around. This will allow students to continue to grow and develop as learners.

We invite you to visit our school or contact us with any questions or comments. Thank you for taking time to visit our website.

Welcome to Wilckens STEAM Academy at Hillcrest. I have the privilege of serving as your assistant principal. I was born and raised in O’Fallon, Missouri. After college, I relocated to the Kansas City area.

I developed a passion for teaching during my undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After my time in Columbia, Missouri, I moved to Kansas City to become a teacher. During my time as a teacher, I developed a passion for project-based learning. This style of learning and teaching provides the students with authentic opportunities for discovery.

Our highly skilled teachers facilitate guided instruction that lead students to discovery and innovation. Oftentimes, they not only surprise me with their work, but they surprise themselves. STEAM has incredible potential and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this fantastic team.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay connected to the wonderful things happening at STEAM!
